Frequently asked questions

Is a PNG's transparency preserved?

No. A PDF has no alpha channel of its own; transparency is composited onto a white background, just like when printing the image.

Is the image distorted to fit the page?

No. The original aspect ratio is always respected; the "contain" or "cover" fit only changes the cropping or margins, never stretches the image.
